Barry Solomon

Barry Solomon began studying the oboe under John Wolfe (BBC Symphony Orchestra) whilst attending the John Lyon School in Harrow. Whilst reading Modern Languages (German and French) at Aston University in Birmingham, he continued his oboe studies and founded the Solomon Oboe Quartet.

Now an IT consultant and project manager, Barry continues to perform and record music, playing classical music on the oboe, cor anglais (english horn) and bass oboe in orchestras, ensmbles and solo settings, singing and playing jazz and popular music (occasionally on alto saxophone), and singing and playing the religious and secular music of the Babylonian Jewish tradition with the Rivers of Babylon. Barry is the co-founder, webmaster and principal oboe of the Helios Chamber Orchestra, librarian, webmaster and co-principal oboe/cor anglais in the London International Orchestra, a member of the Oxford and Cambridge Musical Club, and also performs in a freelance capacity on the oboe, cor anglais (english horn) and bass oboe.
